SUPPORT THE PRIDE-INSPIRING PROJECTS OF COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER YOUTH WHO CREATE SOCIAL CHANGE
QUICK FACTS ON
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE PROJECT
In October 2018, Dicle University Community Volunteers Group joined forces with 'World of Truth' Association for Research and Solidarity to organize various workshops for the social development of children with butterfly disease.
Butterfly Disease (Epidermolysis bullosa) is caused by the deficiency of certain substances in the ligaments that bind the skin to subcutaneous layers. These ligaments can thus be ruptured by the slightest contact, leading to infiltration of water from the surrounding tissues into the cavity formed under the skin and the development of bulla. Since the disease is hereditary, it continues throughout a person's lifespan. No permanent treatment has yet been discovered.
