Community Volunteer youth join hands with children living in rural settlements across the seven regions of Turkey!
The project “Science Seeds Team” was initiated in March 2014, on the occasion of Bayer’s 60th anniversary in Turkey, in continuation of Bayer Young Science Ambassadors Project (BYSAP) jointly organized by Community Volunteers Foundation and Bayer Türk since 2011.
BGBE Bilim Tohumları ekibi, Türkiye’nin yedi bölgesindeki kırsal yerleşimlerde yaşayan çocuklar ile birlikte çeşitli etkinlikler uyguluyor.
BYSAP Science Seeds Team organizes various activities with children from rural settlements across the seven regions of Turkey. Through this project, we try to show the youth, and with their intermediation to children, that one does not need laboratories to love natural sciences and to engage in science. Science permeates our daily lives, and that all we need to do is observe what goes around us and ask the question "Why?"
To us, scientific literacy is not knowing all there is to know about science, but rather, being curious about, exploring and understanding how science works.
Scientific literacy also helps individuals grasp the scientific concepts and processes they need for decision-making, civic participation, as well as cultural relations and production. As such, this project supports youngsters and children in becoming individuals who can question various issues in their daily lives, observe natural events, and try to make sense of all of these phenomena.
