Community Volunteers Foundation expends efforts to implement, support and coordinate various studies on youth, as well as voluntary work, civil society, rights-based activities and impact assessment.
Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) Impact Survey is an impact assessment survey that measures the change and influence that the Foundation wants to create among the youth and in society, in line with its vision, mission and objectives. The Community Volunteers Foundation conducted two TOG Impact Surveys in 2009 and 2015.
TOG Youth Profile Research is a comprehensive internal study meant to gather information on the profiles, living standards, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds of young Community Volunteers.
The objective of the Youth Profile Research is to analyze whether TOG can actually achieve the change it wants to achieve for volunteers, whether volunteers embrace values such as social peace and respect for difference, and how TOG should revise its strategies to boost local impact.
The findings of the research have been very beneficial in understanding why and how young Community Volunteers join TOG, why they continue to work with TOG, which areas they focus on, and in which fields they need to make further progress.
The fieldwork for TOG Youth Profile Research started in mid-August 2014. The entire report is accessible here, while the infographics can be accessed here.
Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) and Youth Services Centre (GSM) initiated Youth Map in the year 2014, within the scope of the Your Right, Youth Right! Project supported by EU Turkey Delegation’s ‘Think Civic’ Networks and Platforms Grant Program.
The objective of the study, which was completed in 2015, was to create a map of organizations in Turkey working on the youth, by categorizing them according to criteria such as city, institution type, field of activity, number of volunteers / members, capacity, collaboration and the representation of youth in management.
Within the scope of this research, contacts were established with associations, foundations, networks, federations, confederations, initiatives, platforms, student clubs and associations, youth centers, youth assemblies, youth homes, political party youth branches and non-formal youth groups active across Turkey. The data collected is accessible at www.genclikharitasi.org.
The study titled Youth Work’s Impact on Social Participation has mainly focused on the relationship between youth’s volunteering process and their social participation. The problems that young people face for being young and their distinct needs have been covered by the study.
With this study, we get a better grasp of the positive impact of youth work on young people. Young people participating in youth work become more active in accessing and influencing decision-making mechanisms, are more sensitive towards social issues, and also more respectful of differences.
