Every year, Community Volunteers Foundation participates in meetings, workshops, advisory councils, networks and initiatives organized by public bodies, intergovernmental organizations, political parties, NGOs from different fields and fund providers in order to formulate policies that will meet the needs of the youth and uphold their rights. In these platforms, TOG contributes to the policy documents drafted, as one of the most consulted NGOs in the field of youth work. On the other hand, TOG also shares its opinions and reports on various youth-related practices and policies with decision-makers.
Council of Europe’s Advisory Council on Youth
On behalf of TOG, Nilay Küme has figured among the 30 new members selected to Council of Europe’s Advisory Council on Youth for the period of 2016-2017. The presence of a youth organization from Turkey on the Advisory Council on Youth is very important for placing the problems and policy needs of youth living in Turkey on the agenda of the Council of Europe, and influencing its decisions in the field of youth.
Youth Organizations Forum
Youth Organizations Forum brings together 79 youth organizations in Turkey under the same umbrella, in order to formulate democratic, rights-based, inclusive, egalitarian and comprehensive youth policies which take into consideration the needs and demands of different youth groups.
Partnership with Swedish Youth Council
TOG has established a partnership with the National Council of Swedish Youth Organizations (LSU), in one of the two projects that support the Youth Organizations Forum (Go-FOR) in Turkey. National Council of Swedish Youth Organizations offers meeting, organization and capacity building support to national youth councils in formation stage, as part of the Global Action Local Empowerment (GALE) program. Within the scope of the partnership between TOG and LSU, whose pilot phase started in 2014, various Youth Organizations Forum meetings were funded and the foundation process was supported. The scheme continues in 2017 with support from LSU.
