Community Volunteer young individuals organize in clubs, groups or communities in their universities, and carry out social responsibility projects to respond to the needs that they identify.

These projects not only contribute to the society, but also help the youth become responsible individuals by supporting their personal development.

OUR VISION

Community Volunteers Foundation set out with the mission of empowering the youth in order to achieve social peace, solidarity and change together with the youth.

OUR MISSION

Community Volunteers Foundation aims at

  • Implementing various social service projects under the pioneership of the youth and the guidance of adults,
  • Ensuring the participation, guidance and support of adult volunteers who believe in the youth’s synergy and want to commit themselves mentally and physically for a social cause,
  • Contributing to the formation of youth who formulate solutions for the problems in their communities, have self-confidence, and are entrepreneurial and conscientious individuals,
  • Broadening the society’s awareness on social responsibility efforts.

In line with its motto of “Don’t criticize; make change happen”, TOG conducts efforts to translate the youth’s energy into social benefit.

2004

Young Individuals Empowered With “5 Keys”!

With the addition of the Yellow Key TOG Orientation and the White Key, the 5 Keys System was created.

Ankara Coordination Center was inaugurated.

First Seasonal Summer Project took place in Doğubeyazıt, Ağrı.

TOG initiated the Democracy and Our Rights Program and Human Rights Training Program.

TOG conducted its first international project.

The Kind Hearts Store was inaugurated.

2005

Youth Join the Board of Directors!

The youth created a list at the TOG 5. Youth Council, whereby 8 Community Volunteer youth made it to the board of directors, for the first time. The continuation of this practice helped create a new mechanism for youth participation.

The first “We Are Reading Books” event was held in multiple cities at the same time.

Trainers got together at the I. Key Refreshing meeting.

TOG held Organization Management Training Programs.

TOG Training Department was created.

2007

Youth Support Gender Equality!

The 4. Field Needs Analysis Meeting was held. The youth proposed affirmative action measures designed to uphold gender equality, and these were accepted at the meeting.

Coming together at the 1. Coordination Meeting, coordinators exchanged ideas to manage the upcoming season with more efficiency.

The first edition of the Living Library Project was organized.

The first TOG Bazaar event was organized by TOG Social Committee members.

TOG initiated the Youth and Social Rights Project. The board game Life is Hard! was popularized across Social Rights Cafés.

2008

Community Volunteer Youth Change and Create Change!

At the 3. Coordination Meeting, it was decided that future TOG Youth Councils would be organized around specific themes, and that each year’s theme would be determined by the youth.

At the first edition of the Training Officers Meeting, training officers came together to learn from each other and share their experiences.

At the 11. Youth Council, the senate was abolished by a decision of the participating youth.

Personal development training programs dubbed “Bending Time” were organized.

Youth Studies and Social Relations Department was established.

Global Relations Department was created.

2010

A Little Support is Enough to Change Lives; the Youth Are Worth It!

TOG initiated the Youth Are Worth It! Campaign.

Pink House and Pinhole Youth Centers became Eurodesk contact points.

TOG released the results of its Impact Research.

TOG opened its Facebook page.

TOG became a member of Public Spending Monitoring Platform.

2011

Gender Equality Efforts Gain Steam!

Work started on gender mainstreaming activities.

At the end of the Chairperson’s term of office, the co-chair system was established.

Gender training programs were organized with young women.

Young Science Ambassadors Project was initiated.

TOG carried out the campaign Young, Not Late!

The project “12 Celebrity Homes by 12 Architects” was conducted.

2013

Shift to A New Field System!

Organization Support Officers Initiation Training Program was held.

Key Training Programs were replaced with Contact Training Programs.

2014

Community Volunteer Youth Empowered through Training!

Thematic training packages were designed on the subjects of Discrimination, Peace and Gender.

TOG conducted the Work with Children Training Program.

At the 23. Youth Council, the TOG Board of Directors list was created online for the first time.

Youth Scholarship Fund for Soma was created.

Living Library Capacity Development Program was implemented.

Youth Studies and Policies Department was established.

2016

15th Anniversary of Community Volunteers Foundation!

DenizBank became a solution partner of Community Volunteers Foundation.

Now a well-established event, TOG Bazaar was organized for the 10th time.

In a collaboration with Most Production, young individuals were featured in the TV series Hayat Şarkısı, and had a dinner with the actresses and actors.

Ankara, Diyarbakır and Hatay/Kırıkhan TOG Youth Centers opened their doors.

TOG held the Rights-Based Work with Children Training Program.

TOG broke its record in the Vodafone 38. İstanbul Marathon in terms of participating runners and donations collected.
