Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) empowers youth and contributes to their personal development by encouraging them to participate in social responsibility projects as volunteers since it was founded in 2002. Its slogan is “Youth-led, Adult-guided”. TOG, believing that youth has the potential and energy to create solutions for social and environmental problems, trains university students about social responsibility and supports them to design and implement social responsibility projects. This way, it increases young people’s community involvement on a voluntary basis.
Community Volunteers come together as student clubs in university campuses and create good for the society by their social responsibility projects every year all around Turkey. They implement projects in various problematic areas such as children’s rights, culture and art, awareness about disabled people, animal rights, ecology and sustainability. These projects make a big contribution to the society as well as to the youth’s personal development. They become active and responsible participants of the society. Young Community Volunteers follow the Foundation’s principles in each and every project. These principles are teamwork, diversity, entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, local participation, transparency and accountability. TOG’s all effort is to create a community of responsible, self-confident, entrepreneur young people who create solutions for societal problems.
