In the period 2018-2019, TOG provided scholarships to a total of 1070 students

We set off on this journey in 2003 with hope and ambition, and in total, provided scholarship to 7,286 young people with the contributions of our individual or institutional supporters. Across the country, we helped 5,675 university students to power ahead with confidence, complete their education and step into professional life.

We ensured that successful students with strong social skills and high volunteering potential could continue their education without running into financial problems. We also encouraged our scholarship students to participate in TOG activities during their scholarship and take part in social responsibility projects on a voluntary basis. Scholarship students join Community Volunteers Foundation projects and activities for at least 4 hours per week or 16 hours per month. Our aim is to encourage the youth to play an active role in social responsibility projects that benefit their communities, and help them get access to information, technology and innovations.

Community Volunteers Foundation provides financial support to thousands of young individuals, standing by them and helping their dreams come true:

  • Youth Scholarships for young Community Volunteers who are successful at school,
  • Snowdrops Scholarships for female science majors who continue their education under difficult conditions,
  • Scholarship for Soma Miners’ Children, established to alleviate the suffering of our miners who survived the Soma mine disaster,
  • Scholarship for Teachers’ Children, designed for university students whose parents are teachers.

In the period 2018-2019, 4,816 online applications were received for TOG Scholarships. 470 candidates were invited to interviews conducted by the Scholarship Committee, and 340 new student scholarships were designated as a result of the interviews. In the period 2018-2019, TOG provides scholarship to 1070 students in total.

The Scholarship Committee, which comprises Board Members, donators and adult volunteers, has played an active role in organizing the scholarship application and interview process, and expended voluntary efforts to smoothly carry out interviews in seven Turkish provinces.

Community Volunteer youth may apply for the Youth Scholarships, which are supported by a total of 1,690 individual donators and 14 institutional donators. In the period 2018-2019, 350 students receive scholarships from this fund.

Female science majors may benefit from the Snowdrops Scholarship Fund, active since 2013 with the support of Turkcell. In the 2018-2019 period, 500 “Snowdrops” received this scholarship via TOG.

Scholarship for Soma Miners’ Children, set up with the contributions of hundreds of individual and institutional donators, accepts applications from high school and university students whose parents survived the Soma mine disaster. Currently, 45 young relatives of miners receive support from this fund.

Scholarship for Teacher’s Children Program is one of the oldest scholarship programs by TOG, and provides scholarship support to young people whose parents are teachers. In the 2018-2019 period, 55 young people received educational support from this scholarship program.

Under our Art Scholarship Programs, scholarship support is provided to young people with the following funds.

The Art Together Scholarship Fund has been established in 2017 through the sale of works displayed at the “Art Together” exhibition, and supports conservatory and plastic arts students. Thanks to donations collected through special celebrations, and to individual contributions, 4-year scholarships are being provided to 4 young people studying arts.

Established in December 2016 through the initiative of 3 female volunteers sitting on the Scholarship Committee, Afife Jale Scholarship Fund now provides educational support to 7 young women studying theater.

The Fine Arts Scholarship Fund, initiated in December 2018 in cooperation with HSBC, offers support to 15 young women studying fine arts.
