Community Volunteer youth are working for a cleaner world through projects focused on the theme of ecology!
The Solar Belt Project, an international project of Greenpeace, implemented by the Community Volunteers Foundation in Turkey, supported by the Global Environment Facility - Small Grants Program (GEF-SGP), aims to encourage universities in Turkey to switch to renewable energy.
Increasing the use of renewable energy sources in Turkey is very important for ‘global climate change’... In this context, Community Volunteers organizations from Istanbul Bilgi, Eskişehir Anadolu University, İzmir Ege University, Trabzon Karadeniz Technical University, Diyarbakır Dicle University, Antalya Akdeniz University and İzmit Kocaeli University, where the project is implemented, are carrying out activities.
Within the scope of the trainings held at universities, Advocacy/Campaigning, Global Climate Change and Energy Efficiency were emphasized. The first training was held on October 2-3, 2010 at the Istanbul TOG Office and was attended by participants from Istanbul Bilgi, Eskişehir Anadolu and Izmir Ege Universities. The second training was held in Trabzon on October 30-31, 2010 and was attended by participants from Karadeniz Technical, Diyarbakır Dicle, Antalya Akdeniz, Kocaeli and Antalya Akdeniz Universities.
During the project process, they aim to raise awareness about renewable energy sources on their campuses and to obtain the energy used in the school from renewable energy sources. In this regard, project volunteers engage in advocacy activities with creative actions in their local communities.
Imagine that you live in an environment that constantly and everywhere affects your health. There is no fresh air, you can't breathe easily. Everything you eat can easily make you sick.
The world you imagine is the world you live in now. Almost all the health problems we face today are directly related to the quality of the air we eat, drink and breathe.
Imagine what a healthy and happy life would be like, that every breath you take is clean, that every apple you eat tastes good...
But we cannot achieve such a beautiful dream on our own, what can we do? We established the "Zero Waste Living" project to achieve a clean and healthy life.
And now we show the way how we can have a clean environment and balanced nature for us to live a healthy and strong life.
The “Return to the Future” project focuses on some of the 21st century’s greatest threats, such as the climate crisis and ecological imbalance, aiming to raise societal awareness and develop solution-oriented approaches. Within the project, the education and information of young people, particularly those aged 18–25, are planned through a website and social media accounts, along with various educational and awareness-raising activities.
The main goal of the “Return to the Future” project is to raise awareness among young individuals about the importance of the climate crisis and ecological balance, and to develop societal solutions. In later stages, the project plans to expand awareness by including middle and high school students. These efforts will be supported through various online and field activities to reach all segments of society.
