Young Community Leaders in Action

Young Community Leaders in Action

Project Goals: The project aims to enhance the participation of youth in the Euro-Mediterranean region, promote active citizenship practices, establish a network in the field of youth policies, and encourage political dialogue.

Objectives:

  • To empower young individuals to become active members of their communities, foster their leadership qualities, and establish a synergistic international collaboration focusing on political dialogue, active citizenship, and democratic living concepts in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
  • To lay the foundation and enhance the capacities of youth and youth organizations in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia, helping them acquire new advocacy and leadership skills, and proactively promote active citizenship and participation in community life.
  • To utilize the Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) method to focus on marginalized and excluded areas of the targeted municipalities/local governments, identify jointly designed solutions, and develop research led by youth to uncover the needs of local communities in each partner country through an active participatory process.
  • To increase the opportunities for youth to participate in decision-making processes as active political subjects in civil life, by establishing a robust and sustainable youth consultation mechanism in local public administrations.
  • To run a Euro-Mediterranean campaign led by young people, aimed at supporting and promoting active citizenship and participation practices for the participatory planning and designing of youth policies in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
