The “Creating Disaster Volunteer Communities” project, carried out together with Community Volunteer youth, has been completed. Throughout the process that started on November 4, 2024, 1,711 young people participated in activities conducted במסגרת Disaster Volunteering; with 54 trainings organized in 32 provinces across 7 regions, a youth network more prepared for disasters was established.
Within the scope of the project implemented with the support of the European Union and in cooperation with STGM, Community Volunteer youth went through a comprehensive training process in the fields of disaster preparedness, humanitarian aid, and local organization.
With the Disaster Volunteering Training of Trainers held in Antalya between January 26–31, 2025, 25 young people were included in the process as disaster trainers. These trainers reached 1,162 young people through 54 Local Dissemination Trainings on Disaster Volunteering organized in 32 provinces across 7 regions of Türkiye between February 16 and December 28, 2025. The young people who participated in the trainings joined the Disaster Volunteering network and were prepared to act together in the event of a possible disaster.
Between December 7–12, 24 team leader youth participated in the Humanitarian Aid Training Based on Human Rights held in Çanakkale. Through this training, young people gained competencies in delivering humanitarian aid to living beings affected by disasters and volunteering in aid warehouses to be established.
Afetflix online sessions, whose names and content were decided together with the young people, were held under 8 thematic topics between August 2025 and January 2026. 500 participants actively attended the Afetflix seminars.
Community Volunteer youth located all around Türkiye are ready to take action as Disaster Volunteers in the event of a possible emergency or disaster.
