We are exploring the digital world safely with "Dijital Dostum" (My Digital Friend).
Launched through the collaboration of the Community Volunteers Foundation and the Vodafone Foundation, the "Dijital Dostum" Project aims to support children aged 8–14 in exploring the digital world safely and consciously, and in using digital technologies in a balanced manner.
The project supports children in recognizing risks they may encounter in the digital world, protecting their personal information and privacy, respecting digital rights and boundaries, identifying cyberbullying, critically evaluating the content they encounter, and establishing a balanced relationship with technology.
Facilitated by Young People
School-based activities for the "Dijital Dostum" project are carried out under the facilitation of Community Volunteer youth who have completed the necessary training.
Young people participating in trainer training sessions learn—through hands-on experience—the content to be used in schools and the methods for delivering it to children. Subsequently, they return to their own communities to share what they have learned with other Community Volunteer youth and contribute to the preparation of local project teams.
We Aim to Reach 5,000 Children Across 7 Provinces
In its first year, the project aims to reach 5,000 children across seven provinces: Bitlis, İzmir, Ankara, Hatay, Istanbul, Samsun, and Diyarbakır. A total of 105 Community Volunteer youth will play an active role in the school-based activities conducted with the children.
Tailored to the developmental needs of primary and middle school students, the program consists of three modules comprising a total of six hours of interactive workshops. Through gamification, group work, scenario discussions, and practice-based activities, the aim is for children not only to acquire knowledge but also to think, ask questions, gain hands-on experience, and apply what they have learned to their daily lives.
Exploring the Digital World Together
The digital world is a significant part of children's lives. With "Digital Buddy" (Dijital Dostum), we support children in recognizing the opportunities and risks they encounter in this world, setting their own boundaries, making informed choices, and integrating technology into their lives in a balanced way.
Facilitated by young community volunteers, we explore the digital world safely together with the children.
