Adıyaman Container City – “Benimle Cumhuriyet” in Adıyaman

As part of the initiative led by Community Volunteers (Toplum Gönüllüleri) youth in Adıyaman, informative and empowering activities were carried out for children living in the earthquake-affected region. With the participation of young volunteers from Adıyaman University, a program was designed to teach children the correct behaviors during an emergency.

In the first stage of the project, 25 young volunteers received comprehensive training on disaster awareness and safe response practices. This knowledge base was then used throughout the project to support educational activities for children living in the container city. The sessions designed for children covered topics such as preparedness before a disaster, identifying safe areas, and correcting common misconceptions.

On the second day of the project, a cultural trip to Mount Nemrut was organized, enabling the young volunteers to come together and explore the region’s cultural heritage. On the third day, hands-on disaster awareness activities were conducted with children at Altınşehir Primary School.

Implemented under the coordination of 7 Community Volunteers, this initiative enabled young people to both strengthen their own disaster awareness and transform this knowledge into social impact on the ground.
