Kayseri Büyükçakır Village – Hand to Hand Hope: Light from the Village to the Future Project

In Büyükçakır Village of Kayseri’s Yahyalı district, a significant local need became visible through the efforts of the Erciyes University Community Volunteers Club: Büyükçakır Primary School—particularly its preschool classroom—did not have adequate physical conditions to meet children’s basic educational needs. These shortcomings directly affected both the learning environment and the development of the children.

In response to this need, 20 Community Volunteer youth initiated a project to improve the school’s physical conditions and meet the essential needs of the students. Following the plan prepared by the youth, the goal was to complete the missing materials in the preschool classroom, enhance the learning environment, and create a safe and supportive space for children.

Implemented within the “With Me, With the Republic” program, this initiative stands as a strong example of young people creating equality-focused transformation at the local level.
