As the Community Volunteers Foundation, we brought together 65 university students with industry representatives, university administrators, and project stakeholders at the workshop organized within the scope of our project carried out in partnership with the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO) and Gaziantep University (GAÜN). Through this initiative—implemented for the first time in Türkiye—we aim to create a strong collaboration that matches young people’s talents with the needs of the industry, supporting local development.
Our goal at the Community Volunteers Foundation is to create safe and inclusive spaces where every young person can realize their potential. The “Power in Youth, the Future in Gaziantep” project, implemented in a city with high production capacity like Gaziantep, aims to center young people’s potential and position them not only as part of the workforce but also as leaders of social transformation.
In the first phase of the project, companies’ internship needs were collected and matched with the applications and evaluation results of Gaziantep University students. Supported by a general aptitude test and a vocational personality inventory, this process established a strong bridge between the potential of young people and the region’s need for qualified labor.
At the workshop held on November 25, 2025, young participants met directly with sector representatives, listened to their expectations, and gained valuable insights for their career journeys. Following the workshop, the students will begin training on essential workplace skills and sector knowledge, after which they will start their internship placements at leading companies in Gaziantep. In this way, the project will continue to serve as a strategic step in both the professional development of young people and the city’s capacity for qualified labor.
